Signature Skyline Experience

For the Scottish Rite for Children Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center’s art program, the design team emphasized thoughtful curation beyond traditional views of pediatric art. Throughout the hospital, themed units with colorful and easily recognizable artwork aid in wayfinding by using symbols, animals, and interpretive imagery to direct visitors. The artwork includes various pieces, from playful wind-up toys to sophisticated abstract representations of nature. This variety engages younger children, captivates adolescents and young adults, fosters shared moments between families and care teams, and creates a supportive and inspiring environment for physicians and staff. In the sports medicine center, memorabilia displays are layered over illustrations of sports heroes, showcasing athleticism without focusing solely on able bodies. The aesthetic reflects Texas Scottish Rite Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center’s core values and aligns with the hospital’s mission. The art program is a long-term guideline for future artistic and aesthetic decisions.
